Takeaways of our presentation on #blockchain cases at the Singapore Marine Technology Conference #SMTC2018 #SMTC_SG organized by the Singapore port authority #MPA_Singapore.

Last week, we presented our #blockchain cases at the Singapore Marine Technology Conference #SMTC2018 #SMTC_SG organized by the Singapore port authority #MPA_Singapore.

Here are my key takeaways:

1. Permissioned blockchain networks are ready to be deployed but a solution for governance is required. I.e. a neutral organisation that decides who is admitted to the 'circle of trust'. Governance is likely to become a differentiating factor between the different types of permissioned blockchains existing today, e.g Community-centric blockchains focusing on ports, carriers, forwarders, terminals etc.. versus Ecosystem-centric blockchains run by specific companies capitalizing on their strong market positions.

2. Success of blockchain in Supply Chain is about gathering companies into a “coalition of the willing” that want to collaborate at arms-length

3. Interoperability will become more and more important to transact between the multiple permissioned blockchains that arise.
